The Centre for European Studies of the Jagiellonian University, Krakow

The Jagiellonian University, founded in 1364, is Poland's oldest and Europe's sixth-oldest university. Annual rankings place it at the top of the country's academic institutions. It is based in Krakow, Poland's medieval capital, in the south of the country within easy travelling distance to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria. The city itself lies in the heart of Central and Eastern Europe, and is the cultural capital of the country.

The Centre for European Studies, established in 1993, is an interdisciplinary unit of the Jagiellonian University. We offer Masters degrees in European Studies in both English and Polish. Individual study is also available at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.

Our European Training Centre provides non-degree training courses for local civil servants and businesspeople in connection with the EU. We also carry out independent research and consulting projects.

We sponsor conferences, public lectures and discussions, including the European Meeting series with Polish politicians. We publish a quarterly journal, European Forum, which contains the best articles written by students and researchers at the Centre.
